Beverly Martin Lewis, affectionately known as Bep, was born to Richard Martin (deceased) and Reather Rogers Martin on October 14, 1955. Beverly was the second of the nine Martin children: Joseph “Stu” Martin (deceased); James “Red” Martin (deceased); Theresa Martin Elliott; Pamela Martin (Howard “Bobby” McCall); Emanuel Martin, Richard Martin Jr. (Theresa); Warren Dexter Martin (deceased); and Darryl Martin (Terrelle George).
Accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, Beverly join the Royal Assembly Church in Oakland Park, under the leadership of her Godmother, the late Pastor Mother Myrtle Francis. Active in church she served as a Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Beverly attended Woodson Elementary School, Rickards Middle School, and Northeast High School before graduating from Fort Lauderdale High in 1973 and attending Broward Community College.
Beverly deeply cherished her family and her role as the family historian and record keeper. She was a proud member of the Harlan-McBride community, where she had many loving neighbors and friends. Beverly loved to eat, talk, and fellowship. She enjoyed connecting with people and collecting various memorabilia. She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid, lifelong fan of the Miami Heat. Beverly was an active member of Plantation Baptist Church and the American Lung Association’s Better Breathers Club.
In addition to her beloved mother and loving siblings, Beverly leaves behind nieces, nephews, special cousins, Mae Francis Randall, Patricia Ann Williams, Naomi Headley and host of family Beverly Martin Lewis
members who will cherish her memory.
