Obituary for Lovell Palmer
Lovell Augustus Palmer, son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, was born on June 26, 1942 to Audley Palmer and Myrtle Hamith (Miss Eva). Lovell went home to rest with God on November 21, 2019. He leaves behind a mother, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 sons, 2 daughters, 2 stepdaughters and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and grand kids.
Lovell was born in Albert Town, Trelawny, Jamaica. Lovell spent most of his time in Reserve Pen Perth Town, where he attended high school at Queenland and studied auto mechanics. After high school, Lovell moved to Claredon to be closer to his mother. He began working in the sugarcane industry. In 1968, Lovell left Jamaica to work in the US as a farm worker. Lovell was also a construction worker and worked several other miscellaneous jobs over the years.
Lovell found his dream job at Northeast High School as a maintenance worker. He received numerous certificates and letters of commendation for his dedication to his job. Lovell married Pauline Taylor in the early 90’s, and later became a widow after her passing in April of 2004. Lovell retired in 2008 after 30 years of service. After retirement, Lovell enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a die hard football fan who loved his Miami Dolphins. If you were watching the game with him you were only allowed to talk about football.
He was a proud man who enjoyed the finer things in life, like his expensive suits and his red Cadillac. He had
a giving heart and helped many people in the US and Jamaica. He was known for his smile and his laugh. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Lovell attended church over the years, and while at Nspire Rehab Center he was ministered to by Leba Hamitt, where he rededicated his life to God.
He will be GREATLY MISSED!
