Obituary for Thomas Harden

“A chapter completed a page turned. A life well lived, a rest well earned! “

Mr. Thomas C. Harden was born on June 27, 1936 in Waynesboro, Georgia to the late Mr. Robert Ellis and the late Ms. Bessie May Harden. Thomas was affectionately known as “Tom” to his family and friends.

Thomas was educated in the Burke County School System. In search of a new start, Thomas left Waynesboro, Georgia at the tender age of 13 and migrated to South Florida, where he spent
the remainder of his adult life.

Upon arriving to Florida, Thomas worked various jobs until he fulfilled his dream of being a successful entrepreneur. Those jobs included: working at Precious Terrazzo Inc. as a construction worker, Texaco Gas Station as a gas attendant/manager, owner of a taxi cab company, Wingate Gulf as a gas station owner, CEO of a year round produce company, a night club owner, and various other business ventures of interest.

On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, God looked down from Heaven and saw that His child was weary and needed rest, so he called Thomas from labor to reward. Thomas was preceded in death, but not in memory, by his son Robert Ellis.

Those whom Thomas leaves to cherish his memories include his sister: Minnie Davis, two children: LaWanda “Panky” Hall (Kenneth Hall) of Lauderdale Lakes, FL, Thomas “Kenric” Nelson (Nina Lewis-Nelson) of Coconut Creek, FL; two grandchildren: LaKendria Hall and Taylor Lewis; two great-grandchildren: JaCayla Dudley and Brielle Thompson; special friends, Pecola Campbell (50 yrs.) of Waynesboro, GA, Cheryl Westmoreland (15 yrs.) of Margate, FL, business partner, Harold Underwood and a host of loving children, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and special friends who were adored by him and will miss his presence dearly.
